Large vertical louvres provide necessary sun protection while maintaining ample natural light and an unhindered view to the outside. FMSA Architecture specified the Sheraton Series® 600 louvres that were individually fixed at 30° and 600 centres. These large louvres work to reduce heat loads on the building and create a vertical architectural feature to the western façade of the Carpet Call Warehouse.
While maximum spans are dependent on the factors such as width of blade, structure available for fixing and local wind pressures, the Sheraton Series 600 can ultimately achieve spans up to 4.5m. In this particular project, this ensured top and bottom fixing was sufficient to meet the 3.2m span and add to the building aesthetics. The ellipsoid shape louvres were finished in a beautiful Monument Matt powder coat finish, a perfect contrast to the white cladding surround framing the louvres. Louvreclad’s Sheraton Series is available in ellipsoid, bullet and modular panel configurations making it a highly versatile commercial sun shading solution.
