Vertical Chevron Louvres create a Stunning Feature

Having successfully collaborated with our team in the past, Kane Construction brought Louvreclad on board to design, engineer, supply and install the performance louvres required on the building.

Louvreclad Ellenborough Series® vertical chevron louvres create a feature curved plant screen, that runs from the basement level courtyard, up to level three. The extruded aluminium series has a 62.5mm pitch and provided the required zero vision vertical screening aesthetic, while also allowing for rain defence and good airflow. Batessmart selected Dulux® Duratec Monument Matt powder coat finish, a dark charcoal colour that provides a striking contrast to the external red brick courtyard.

Two large roof top plant screens also surround all services on the roof. These plant areas called for an integrated louvre system that provided good ventilation, zero vision, noise reduction and accommodated curved corners.  Louvreclad Delta Series® is a high-strength roll formed colorbond louvre and was the ventilation louvre selected, while Louvreclad Hudson Series® 600 was selected for acoustic noise reduction. Louvreclad Delta Series® single stage louvres were installed horizontally as the majority of the plant screen and vertically to suit the curved corners, with the Louvreclad Hudson Series® 600 integrating into the screen where noise reduction was required.

This project was a great example of a well thought through specification and consideration being put into the louvre performance requirements.
